Dawn Mason
Dawn makes work that explores the themes of inheritance and loss through the use of cloth, stitch and paper. Her practice is concerned with the validity of the handmade as a holder of knowledge. She directly address materiality, process and the haptic as an equivalent to conceptual approaches to artmaking, positioning her practice as belonging to art-textiles and questioning traditional definitions of fine art and craft practices. Dawn completed a practice based PhD in 2018 and also holds an MA with Distinction. Dawn.m.mason@outlook.com |
